Memoirs of a Crow
LoopMaffia returns after 5 years of publishing absence. The eclectic “Memoirs of a Crow” is a very successful combination of styles from his previous albums. This is not surprising as the artist wants to lead us through the nooks of his memories.
The goal of the album was to capture not so much the memories but the feelings accompanying LoopMaffia’s events of his life. The album begins with a very delicate, subtle Jazz accent. The warm introduction symbolizes the narrator, who subtly tries to convince the listener to close his eyes…and see. Succeeding tracks are consequently presenting other stages of his life. Childhood, getting to know the woman of his life, rough career, love of music, difficult choice to leave his native country and finally, adaptation to unknown reality. The last songs are about hope, family and realization of ambitious plans, which are in motion till this day. The whole story is closed with a Jazz infused song where the role of the narrator is once again played by a mysterious feminine vocal.
The album is a cross-section of LoopMaffia’s skills. The presented mix oscillates on the brim of his beloved music genres. Guests are not accidental. The artist is assisted by people dear to him and those who are his long-time inspiration. “Memoirs of a Crow” is full of tasty details, which are just waiting to be discovered during subsequent listening sessions.
